Intro
Hi James. What a wonderful office space you have to work in. This is really inspiring. Mr. Sammels, our enthusiastic Headteacher, said that you were a cool company who worked in a cool space, like Royal William Yard, and he was right. We love it here. Thank you for meeting with us and getting us out of our classrooms. We might want to stay here, you know! We better get started! Let's go!
Q1
Hi James, in one of your interviews that I have read, you said that Andy, who we understand is the founder of WWA, is an introvert, and you are different and are an extrovert. Could you tell us more about how these differences combine to make a brilliant company and a successful business? Is this why you are taking on this podcast and not Andy?
Q2
I have noticed that you are a BCorp business. My friends and I don't know what that means. Could you teach us more about what it means to be a BCorp business please?
Q3
The Royal William Yard is stunning. It is full of history. Is this why you choose to place your office space here? There must be cheaper places to pay rent? How does being here help you make your business count?
Q4
We understand from our research that you love surfing. So do I! Did you know that Mr Sammels feels the same and even has skateboards in his office? You must work hard. We see that you have designed and built the Wave Project Surf Place Bristol. I went to Bristol over the holidays long ago, but didn't check out the waves. What is it about this project and surfing that you love so much?
Q5
We are here in your gorgeous boardroom. It's huge. We bet a lot of great ideas come out of this room. What top tips do you have for us when we are back at school on organising our ideas and making them happen?
Q6
What was the most challenging part of making The Box? I have been there lots. It is my favourite place to go over the holidays. Thank you for making this place in Plymouth. You have definitely made our city a better place to learn and stay.
Q7
Are there any projects that are inspiring you now? What's next for WWA and how can we help?
Q8
I love it here. Have you ever taken on anyone my age for work experience? I think that I could be the next big designer! Right now I am taking on a project with my pals to design a coffee cart for our community. We could send you the details if you're interested.
Q9
I have a few questions for you. What makes WWA such a special place to work, and why would I choose to be with you and not another company? Do people come to work with you from all over the world and from different cultures or is everyone White British and from Plymouth? You see, our school is changing, and we have so may different cultures, languages, sin colours and new ideas. It is wonderful. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
Q10
At school, we learn about values such as democracy, rule of law and other values. Do you have any company values and how do these influence the decisions you make? We wondered if you have ever not taken on a job becase it conflicted with your values?
Q11
We see that you have designed and built school buildings in Truo and Stonehouse. We wonder what your perfect design of a school would look like? Could you tell us more? We have brought some cool and interesting examples of school designs along to share with you.
Q12
This is our final question for today, so, what ultimately would you like your company to achieve next and why and how can we help you?
Outro
We are so sorry, but we are going to have to stop this podcast now. We have had fantastic fun getting to know you and your imaginative company. We have learnt a lot by visiting your workspace. You have inspired us to work in teams and keep our workspaces tidy. Please do think of us when you plan your next school. We would love to help you, because remember, Together we can...
