Becca's Books | I can...

About

Intro

Thank you for coming to visit us Becca. We are so grateful to meet a real-life author. We think that we could help you to make even more I Can... books. If you'd like to talk more about this idea, please do let us know. But for now, let's get started on this podcast. Welcome and now for our first question...

Q1: We understand that you used to work in this area of Plymouth. Could you tell us more?

Q2: You are an author. Who inspired you to become an author yourself?

Q3: Can anyone write books or do you need special magic powers to do so?

Q4: What top tips would you give a 10-year-old who is looking to write books?

Q5: Some people find it hard to write short, clear sentences. Some people find it hard to layout their thinking into paragraphs. Some people find handwriting hard. What is the hardest thing for you about writing, and how have you learnt to get over this difficulty of writing for an audience?

Q6: At Mayflower we read as a class every day.  Every pupil will read so many novels before they leave for Secondary School. Do you like to read and if so, what types of books make you happy?

Q7: What tools do you use to help you to write great books?

Q8: What steps do you take to create and make a real life book?

Q9: Are the best writers always the smartest children in school and, if not - how would you spot a talented writer that might be lost when in the classroom?

Outro

Thank you for your time, Becca. You have inspired us to write and believe in ourselves. It is so powerful to think that a local person can make books. This means that we can as well. You have reminded us that, Together we can... Thank you from us all here at Mayflower for creating and sharing your I Can... books. We hope to work with you to make a book soon!
