In December 2022, we hosted ‘Share a Story’ event at the Wolseley Community Hub. Families were invited to get lost in the world of spontaneous storytelling – Amy Parsons, red-cloaked and clutching a basket full of story prompts, shared an enchanting version of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. Families were encouraged to explore sensory boxes to awaken their senses and bring this story to life.

Children and their families, supported by the Mayflower Storytellers, were encouraged to explore new vocabulary and to develop and extend the well-known story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’.

Simple puppet-craft ideas to try at home were modelled by Danielle Barringer, and children were given the opportunity to create their own story puppets to take home.

We enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits, and met Sam from the local library who brought along some free books for children to take away with them and sign-up forms for our local library.
