"Together we can...promote tolerance and celebrate our differences."
Bio
I have enjoyed a long and varied teaching career working in schools in Brighton, Hackney, Ljubljana and Plymouth. For several years I worked with refugee and asylum seeker pupils in schools across Plymouth which cemented my passion for equality and diversity issues as well as laying the foundations for my role as Religious Education subject leader at Mayflower. I have particularly enjoyed exploring the diversity of beliefs within organised religions as well as the different world views represented across our school and wider community.
Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to planning and delivering learning opportunities that excite and inspire pupils. Positivity, flexibility and a willingness to constantly strive for self-improvement have enabled me to adapt to, and embrace, new educational initiatives and research.
In addition to my roles at Mayflower, I have also had the opportunity to represent the Local Authority as a Key Stage 2 external moderator for writing. This has consolidated my understanding of the expected outcomes in writing for pupils as they reach the end of their primary education.
Finally, I am proud to be a volunteer and trustee of Jeremiah's Journey (a local childhood bereavement charity) and a director of Street Factory.

What am I reading?
I love to read books of any genre and always have a pile beside my bed! I am currently reading Black Tudors by Miranda Kaufmann which I am finding fascinating and informative.
What am I researching?
As part of my ongoing professional development I am digging deeper into the Trivium model for teaching and learning - exploring how to make learning memorable for all of our pupils.
