Intro

Welcome, Delia - this is a real honour to meet you and all the way from the other side of the world. Let's just take a moment to appreciate this! Technology is making it easy and simple for us to expand our minds and talk with you today about your work on neuroscience. We can't wait to learn more. So, let's go...

Q1

Hello Delia, I hope you have had a wonderful day. I want to ask, why did you decide to become a neuroscientist?

Q2

Hello, I would like to ask, is it true that only healthier foods impact your intelligence or might chocolate or ice cream also impact your intelligence stronger?

Q3

We have read that you have been doing research on neuroplasticity. We are curious, does the brain actually change shape when exposed to something new?

Q4

In your studies you talk about the connection between what we eat and how our brain develops. What would you say are the best foods to eat are if we want to get more intelligent?

Q5

You wrote on your blog about how technology and social media affect the brains of children and teenagers and I want to ask if you have children and if you do, what age have you allowed them to have a phone and a social media account?

Q6

You mentioned in one of your articles about a study which showed that increased screen time (between 1 and 5 hours a day) impacts the volume of white matter in the brain. What exactly does this mean?

Q7

The brain, truly fascinating. Responsible for everything we do. Are all our brains the same and if not, why?

Q8

Science is one of our most important subjects in school. Our podcasts, at the moment, are in fact mostly about science. Could you tell us who you feel is the most inspiring scientist and why?

Outro

Wow, that was a really impressive podcast. We have learnt so much. Who would have thought that 11 yrs old could learn about neuroscience? Thank you for giving us this opportunity. We would love to study with you again. And remember, every time you tackle a new scientific problem, 'Together we can...'
