Artists and Influences
Sue Lewry
Sue is a local British artist. She is a printmaker whose creative practice centres around collaborative making and photo collage.
She started her career as a graphic designer and art director in London’s fashion industry. After discovering printmaking, she went on to pursue a Master’s in printmaking.
She is now located at Alma Yard, in Plymouth. She has collaborated with our pupils and community to create screen prints using her mobile print workshop for her Colossal project. You can often find her at the local skate park, inspiring others with her art.
Stephanie Peters
Stephanie is an American artist. She works with a range of media, such as: charcoal, acrylic, embroidery and printing, often creating mixed media pieces.
She graduated from the University of Arizona where she studied Art History and Studio Art. She is inspired by her encounters with wildlife and her relationship to the shifting future through science (climate change, natural hazards) and ideas (religion, politics)
She has inspired our pupils and community for many years, particularly her Natural Disasters collection.
Azza Gasim
Azza is a local British artist who works with a range of different media.
She graduated from Esmod Dubai with a degree in Fashion Design. She has a deep passion for art, music, fashion and photography. She has created large murals within Plymouth to inspire others.
She has inspired our pupils and community, creating a mural with our pupils which reflects our school, ran workshops linking Art and RE and has worked with our Media Team.
Robert Crowther
Robert is a local British artist. He is an author, illustrator and paper engineer who has written children's books with pop-ups and moveable parts.
He graduated from Norwich School of Art where he studied Art and Design from the Royal College of Art.
As an ex member of staff, Robert has inspired us for many years, by combining Art, DT and Geography within his books.
Becky Dodman Wainwright
Becky is a local British artist. She is a multi-disciplinary textile designer and artist with a colourful and bold style.
Having worked for over a decade in the textile industry and as a lecturer at Arts University Plymouth, Becky designer is creating from a diverse heritage of Chinese and Colombian influence. Her work explores traditional crafts to produce textile collections.
Becky has collaborated with our pupils and community using a range of knitting, tapestry and crochet to create textile art.
